Terms of Service (Beta)

These Terms set out the conditions for using the Shoong service (the "Service") provided by Shoong (business registration in progress; the "Operator"). By signing up for or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If this translation differs from the Korean version, the Korean version prevails.

1. The Service

  1. The Service is a web service that picks clips from videos you upload or link to, creates subtitles, and renders them in formats for each platform. The same features are also offered through a REST API and MCP.
  2. The Service is currently in beta. Features, limits and prices may change after notice, the Service may be interrupted, and results may differ from what you expect. We recommend that you keep your own copies of your originals and results in case of data loss during the beta.
  3. Automatic transcription, translation and clip selection are produced by AI. Results may contain errors, so please check them before publishing.

2. Accounts

  1. You must be 14 or older to sign up.
  2. Keep your account information accurate and do not share your sign-in links or API keys with others. You are responsible for all use of your account.
  3. If you think an API key has leaked, revoke it immediately and let the Operator know.

3. Your content and rights

  1. You upload or link only videos you hold the rights to, or that the rights holder has allowed you to use. You must tick a box confirming this before importing.
  2. The rights to the videos you upload, and to the subtitles, clips and renders made from them, stay with you (or the original rights holder). The Operator processes them only as needed to provide the Service (storage, transcription, translation, analysis, rendering and delivery).
  3. Your content is not used to train AI models. Where it is sent to outside providers for processing, the scope is as listed under "Processing by third parties" in the Privacy Policy.
  4. You must not upload or create:
    • content that infringes others' copyright, portrait rights, trademarks or other rights;
    • illegally filmed material, child or youth sexual exploitation material, or any other content prohibited by law;
    • content that harasses specific people or promotes discrimination or hatred, or content intended for fraud or spreading malware.

4. Infringement reports and removal

  1. Rights holders can report infringement through the "Send feedback" form in the Service (a dedicated email address will be added later). Please include the rights holder's details, the work infringed, where it is in the Service (video or clip ID, or a share link), and material showing that you hold the rights.
  2. After receiving a report, the Operator makes the content private or removes it within 24 hours and notifies the user. The user may submit a statement showing a legitimate right.
  3. Accounts that repeatedly infringe rights will be restricted or terminated.

5. Credits and pricing

  1. Automatic transcription, translation and AI clip selection use credits (1 minute of source = 1 credit; transcription and translation only = 0.5 credit). Editing subtitles yourself, rendering and re-rendering do not use credits.
  2. The credits needed are shown when you make a request and are deducted only when the job finishes. Failed or canceled jobs are not charged.
  3. The Service is free during the beta. You receive 60 credits when you sign up, and limits such as daily processing and video length apply. During the beta we do not add watermarks to results or lower their resolution. Prices, limits and conditions (watermarks, resolution, retention periods, etc.) may change at the full launch, and changes will be announced in advance under Section 10. When paid plans and extra credits open, they are sold by our payment reseller (Lemon Squeezy), and payment, refunds and taxes follow its terms.
  4. Each plan differs in daily processing, maximum video length, concurrent jobs and how long results are kept. Requests over a limit may be refused or wait.

6. Data retention

  1. Original videos (and the audio and preview copies made from them) are deleted 30 days after upload (or import). After that, you cannot make new clips or re-render from that video, but you can still download results already made. During the beta, results (renders) are kept until you delete them; plan-based retention periods will apply at the full launch (announced in advance).
  2. Download links are valid for 1 hour.
  3. You can delete videos and clips, or request deletion of your workspace, at any time. Details follow the Privacy Policy.

7. Prohibited conduct

You must not interfere with the normal operation of the Service (excessive automated requests, circumventing limits, trying to access other users' data, exploiting security vulnerabilities, or reverse-engineering the Service to build a competing one). If you find a security vulnerability, please report it through the "Send feedback" form (a dedicated email address will be added later).

8. Restriction and termination

  1. If you breach these Terms, the Operator may restrict your use by warning, temporary suspension and termination, in that order. Illegal content or urgent security risks may be restricted immediately.
  2. You may terminate at any time. On termination, your data is deleted according to the Privacy Policy.

9. Limitation of liability

  1. The Operator provides the beta Service "as is". Without intent or gross negligence, the Operator is not liable for damage caused by service interruptions, errors in AI results, or rights issues in user content.
  2. If a dispute with a third party arises from user content infringing rights, the user who uploaded that content resolves it.

10. Changes to these Terms

If these Terms change, we will notify you on the Service and by email 7 days before they take effect (30 days for changes unfavorable to users).

11. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, and disputes are resolved in the court with jurisdiction under the Korean Civil Procedure Act.
